●    Gugang to Shuitou Coastal Route

Along Kinmen's southwestern coast, the Kinmen Distillery in Jinmencheng releases a large amount of fermented grain mash. This provides abundant food resources for wildlife. In addition, most of this area is a military restricted zone, so there is a large pristine forest, as well as shrub lands.

Along the coast are cliffs that serve as the nesting grounds for the Blue-tailed bee eater, a summer migratory bird. Every summer, traces of Blue-tailed bee eater activity can be seen. In the winter, when ducks and geese fly south, the area around the distillery becomes a habitat for 2,000-3,000 of these(what? Be specific) birds. During the transitory period, orioles, cuckoos and other species of birds arrive.
