This area is located in central Kinmen.  It is an important memorial to the August 23^rd Bombardment.  Kinmen National Park's visitor center is located in the Jhongshanlin Recreational Area.  Taiwu Mountain has a rich military history.  From the top of Taiwu Mountain, look out over Kinmen's vast fields.

        Military memorial sites include the August 23^rd Artillery Battle Museum Chiang Ching-kuo Memorial Hall, and Taiwu Mountain cemetery.  In addition, the Cyonglin traditional settlement is rich in culture and history.  Other important historical sites include the Arch to Chastity, Chiu Liang-kung Cemetery and Tsai family ancestral hall, etc.

        This area is located in the southwestern part of Kinmen Island.  Within this area are traditional settlements, historical sites, military fortifications, a lake and coastal scenery.  Gugang Lake is Kinmen's only natural lake.  The weeping willows along the shores of Gugang Lake and the views from Gugang Tower are representative of the natural beauty of this area.  Other places to visit include the Jhaishan Tunnel which make up one of the many military historical sites.  Nationally registered historical sites include the Wuntai Pagoda and Syu Jiang Siao Wo Inscriptions, etc.  The traditional settlements of Oucuo, Jhushan and Shueitou have retained their cultural heritage and landscape.

        This area is located in the northwestern part of Kinmen Island.  The Guningtou Battleground is the major military historical site, and includes Guningtou Ridge and the Guningtou Battle Museum .  Historical sites include the traditional settlements of Nanshan and Beishanl, as well as Jhenwei Residence(振威第) and Shueiwei Pagoda.  In addition, Cih Lake boasts the largest wintering bird area on Kinmen, and is thus a great place for bird watching.

        Mashan is located in the southeastern corner of Kinmen Island.It is famous for the Mashan Broadcasting and Observation Post.  Another interesting site is the Shanhou Folk Culture Village.  Also visit the Sweetgum Woods, which were planted by Kinmen's Forestry Institute.  The Kinmen National Park Headquarters have completed work on the Wuhu Hill Hiking Trail, located just outside of Shansi.

        The Lieyu area is comprised of Little Kinmen Island and surrounding areas.  Many of the important sites can be seen using the around-the-island Tank Road(環島車轍道).  There are numerous military historical sites including the Hujingtou War Museum, Chiangchun Fort, and Bada Memorial.  In addition, Lingshui Lake is Little Kinmen's largest wetlands, and an important wildlife habitat.
