Kinmen National Park Administration Repairs Lights along Cidi Road, Improving Safety for Scenery Viewing and Driving
The Kinmen National Park Administration has undertaken repairs for the low street lights on the sides of the road in order to improve the quality of scenery viewing at Cidi Causeway. It will also increase driving safety at night and enhance the night scenery at Cidi.
The Kinmen National Park Administration pointed out that the Cihu area is a bird habitat, while the Cidi beach offers a breathtaking view of the sunset. Added to the rich biodiversity and the night view of Xiamen, it is a top tourist attraction. For many years the Administration has shut off the low street lights to minimize light pollution and reduce impact on the night scenery. This year, repair and maintenance work will be undertaken on the street lights to improve the scenery environment and driving safety.
The Administration began work on the low street lights on both sides of the road at Cidi at the end of August 2015, with a total of 186 lights has been repaired and upgraded and the work was completed on September 3. The lights will be on until 24:00 to minimize the impact on the environment and habitats, improve the viewing environment and maintain the local major ecological resources.
