Kinmen National Park Holds Assembly to Commend Outstanding Volunteers Passing on Hope and Glory, Together Creating the National Park Brand

Kinmen National Park Headquarters held the Kinmen National Park Voluntary Service Contact Council and Annual Outstanding Volunteer Commendation Activity at Ying Chun Ge restaurant at 6:30 pm yesterday (19th). In total, 18 volunteers were commended for their performance in 2019. The national park HQ thanked all volunteers for their selfless giving and paid the highest respects to them.

The HQ said that seven groups of volunteers have been recruited since the park was founded and at present there are 118 volunteers. To thank volunteers for their loyalty and hard work, this event to commend outstanding volunteers was held. Recipients of the Otter Award were Wu Qi-rong. Ye Li-zhu, He Mei-jin, Qiu Tian-huo, Chen Shu-cha, Chen Zhi-fa, Yang Qing-feng and Lin Li-juan; recipients of the Horseshoe Crab Award were Zhong Xing-tong, Xue Chen-ru, Xu Shu-qing and Li Wen-liang. Recipients of the Bee-eater Award were Chen Guo-min, Lin Ming-wei and Lin Hua-ying. The director of the HQ also presented the Interior Affairs Volunteer Service Award to outstanding volunteers on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior, namely Ye Yue-zhi who received the Gold Award, Tsai Li-rong who received the Silver Award and Chen yu who received the bronze.

The election for the president of the Kinmen National Park Headquarters Volunteers’ Club was held on the same day. The new president is Hsieh Wen-jia. Certificates of gratitude were also presented to the 8th and 9th president Chen Ya-wen and executive secretary Ye Yu-zhi in recognition of their hard work.
The HQ said that volunteers were first recruited in 1997, which means the volunteer team has been operating for 23 years or almost a quarter of a century. The volunteers assist the HQ promote ecological conservation, environmental protection, tourism and leisure, guide and interpretation and other work; the volunteers are conscientious, warm and thoughtful and have a customer-first service attitude, winning the praise of visitors and residents. The HQ again thanked the volunteers for their efforts and expressed the hope that their good work will continue so everyone can grow together and provide even better service in future.
