2020 Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival-Hope and Blessing Blessing the World opened registration on September 1 People are warmly invited to take part

This year, Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival is in its 12th year. Six sessions will be held from November 7 to 8. Online sale of tickets will begin at 1pm on September 1 (Tuesday) and a registration fee of NT$200 per person will be collected. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear beautiful music in a tunnel setting.

This year, the two themes of the festival are Hope and Blessing. South Korea’s world renowned vocalist Ilhun Jung, female soprano Jiag Qizhen, and winner of the Harmonica World Championship Li Rang will appear and be accompanied by a renowned chamber orchestra, Pro-Art Camerata, led by acclaimed Cellist Chang Chen-chieh, the members of which include famed violinist Lin Tian-chi, violinist Chen Yi-ting and viola player Kang Yu-li.

The string quarter is the deepest form in western classical music. Every year, the expectations of the Festival audience are transformed into joy. The layers of the string quartet instruments’ music in the tunnel expresses the refinement and beauty of chamber music perfectly. The performances over two days will be accompanied by vocals, harmonica and will give the audience a whole new flavor of music. Different to the past, one big highlight this year is that the stage space will be decorated with floral art by up and coming designer Rong Xiao-yang of Leon Florist, giving the audience the hope of prosperity. With the whole world this year under the shadow of the epidemic, the central ideas of the Festival are Hope and Blessing. Art Director violinist Chang Chen-chieh hopes to give this world a beautiful thing and awaken hope with melodious music. Also, holding the concerts in a tunnel built for battle symbolizes the hope that the world can move towards peace and happiness amidst chaos.
