Survival game held by Kinmen National Park Headquarters very well received by the public

Kinmen National Park HQ held the Survival Game Promotion, Education and Training Activity at Zhongshan Forest Visitor Center and Runanshan Barracks on February 19, 2022 (Saturday). Attended by around 80 people, the activity involved indoor and outdoor courses; the indoor course was introduction to survival game shooting sport, while the outdoor courses were beginners competitive shooting (IPSC) and survival game experience; IPSC involves the player moving while shooting at fixed targets to score points; survival game involves people shooting at each other. The activity instructor was Peng Wei-hua. Coach Peng has been involved in competitions in Taiwan and overseas and has rich experience of survival games. Participants responded enthusiastically and said the experience was hard to come by.

Kinmen has been scarred by war and has a large number of varied military remains and landscapes, making it the ideal venue for survival games. To increase the use benefits of military facilities, Kinmen National Park HQ has successively held military barracks activation lease tenders for use as homestays, stores and recreation spaces. With the number of people taking part in survival games in Taiwan increasing rapidly, this actively was held. The aim was for promotion, education and training so that people could have a close up experience of military life, while also driving the development of survival games in Kinmen to achieve the objective of promoting eco-tourism and stimulating local industry and economy.
