Kinmen National Park Headquarters, National Park Service organizes inclusive survival game activities for international students and underprivileged teenagers

To bolster the promotion of survival game activities and raise awareness of the benefits of revitalizing and utilizing military camps, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters, part of the National Park Service, continues to extend invitations to the public. On the morning of April 15, 2023 (Saturday), The Headquarters organized the "Survival Game Promotion Education and Training Activity" at Jiacun Camp in Zhongshan Forest. Participants in this event included international students from the National Quemoy University and underprivileged children from the Kinmen Family Support Center. The goal was to utilize this activity as a means to establish an international exchange channel and provide public welfare educational services.

The venue for this event, the Jiacun Camp, originally served as a military nuclear, biological, and chemical training ground, as well as a training facility for urban warfare. It is designed as a village combat training ground modeled after a Viet Cong village. The activities conducted here encompass survival game battles and rapid competitive shooting. The survival game involves confrontational shooting, while rapid competitive shooting features fixed target positions with participants moving and shooting to score points. This event offers a diverse range of activities. It combines shooting-related themed exploration courses, allowing the public to gain a deeper understanding of Kinmen's unique lifestyle, the historical and cultural origins of its military, and provides an opportunity to get closer to military facilities and experience the military atmosphere. Through this event, the promotion of outdoor recreation and experiences in Kinmen is encouraged, without limitations on vision and thinking. It also prompts a reevaluation of the significance of the Kinmen Battlefield space and fosters acceptance of the idea of a national park.

The Headquarters stated that there are still 4 events this year. The event dates are May 13, June 10, September 9 and October 14. Each event is scheduled to open 40 places, and the target participants are 12 years old (inclusive). ) and above, and people aged 65 and below (inclusive); parents and children are welcome to participate together.
