Kinmen National Park Headquarters, National Park Service organizes Cihu Wetland ecological promotion activity and registration starts from now on

To promote Cihu Wetland ecological education, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters, National Park Service (the Headquarters) will organize the "Cihu Wetland Ecological Promotion Activity - Cihu Fun Tour" at the Cihu Interpretation Station from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 on July 15, 2020 (Saturday); through a guided tour and interpretation, students will be led to visit Cihu Lake to understand the habitat types of Cihu Lake, the birds, aquatic lifee, and the surrounding environment.

Kinmen is located on the migration route of birds in East Asia. Migratory birds need wetlands to inhabit and forage during their migration. Therefore, Cihu Wetland has become an important relay station for migratory waterbirds and is also key to the bird situation of Kinmen. The area around Cihu is dotted with fishing ponds and crisscrossed by waterways and the area between Shuangli Lake and Cihu is a favorite spot for otters to feed. Recognizing the importance of preserving Cihu's animal and plant ecosystems, along with their habitats, and striving to achieve biodiversity and sustainable development objectives, Cihu has been designated as an important (national) wetland. In pursuit of wetland conservation, the public is encouraged to actively engage in ecological conservation efforts, cherish ecological resources, safeguard the natural environment, and collaborate in making prudent use of wetlands.

The content of this activity includes: understanding common birds, understanding common water creatures, testing the water quality of Cihu, and understanding the importance of wetland ecology through the Cihu food chain. Registration is open to the general public from elementary school seniors and above. Online registration is open from now on. It is expected to recruit 30 people. Registration will be taken until the registration quota is full. You are welcome to sign up. The registration website is: [Link].
