Renovation of Ci Lake Triangle Fortress parking lot finished, solving the safety problem of tour buses stopping temporarily on the hard shoulder

To enhance the quality of recreational services at Ci Lake (Cihu) Triangle Fortress and address the shortage of parking space, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters and National Park Service (the Headquarters) have conducted a renovation project for the Ci Lake Triangle Fortress parking lot in July 2023. The project was completed, and it opened on December 22, 2023.

The Headquarters pointed out that Ci Lake Triangle Fortress serves as a location for the preservation and activation of a historical battle site. Currently, the site has a store, and the nesting site of the blue-tailed bee-eater (Merops philippinus) and the wintering habitat of the great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) in Ci Lake have been restored on the periphery. It has rich and diverse tourism and leisure resources and is a popular spot for tourists to view Kinmen Bridge, the sunset, and bird watching; the sea view and city views of Xiamen in the distance can also be appreciated. Its highlights attract many tourists. This project was completed in response to insufficient space and chaotic parking of buses on the hard shoulder, as well as for the preservation and maintenance of historical battle sites and bird-watching facilities.

The Headquarters further pointed out that this project has added four parking spaces for buses, which will improve the problem of road space being taken two barrier-free parking spaces, and added a women's toilet inside the site, for separate male and female toilet spaces. Landscaping low lights have also been installed next to the walking trails to provide safe lighting for visitors at night. The Headquarters stated that in recent years, it has invested in the renovation of settlements and locations in the park, and will continue to provide tourist-friendly service facilities and create a highlight for Kinmen.
