Kinmen National Park is the nation's first national park which is purposed to preserve battle monuments, cultural assets and also reserve natural resources. Since 1995, Kinmen National Park Headquarters actively promoted the preservation and reuse of traditional cultural assets, and resulting with great achievements. From statistical data till July 2009, a total of 44 traditional buildings completed repairing, where 34 are operated as guesthouses and stores, 8 are for exhibition, and 2 buildings are for office use. The measures have effectively preserved the traditional village style and Southern Min Culture. In addition, this also enhanced the travelling experience of the visitors and increased the job opportunities of village residents.
