The 2024 Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival is set to celebrate its 16th edition this year, taking place on October 12-13, featuring a total of six performances. Tickets will be available for purchase starting July 19 at 2:00 PM through the official online ticketing system. Each ticket is priced at NT$200 per person, and with limited availability, don’t miss your chance to be part of this exceptional music event!

Organized by the Kinmen National Park Headquarters and the National Park Service, this music festival has been held annually since 2009 and has become a hallmark of Kinmen's unique cultural tourism. The event will take place at the Zhaishan Tunnel, a significant military historical site that adds a unique layer to the experience by combining historical preservation with vibrant cultural performances. The festival showcases the headquarters’ ongoing efforts in both cultural revitalization and historic conservation.

On Day 1 (October 12), audiences will enjoy a captivating fusion of Eastern and Western artistry, featuring Wang Ying-Jie, the former principal Erhu player of the Taipei Municipal Chinese Orchestra, and renowned poet Xiang Yang. This performance will showcase the unique melodies of the Erhu intertwined with Xiang Yang’s evocative poetry, including special compositions created by composer Lin Jia-ying and poet Xiang Yang to highlight Kinmen’s cultural harmony.

On Day 2 (October 13), the program continues with an emotionally resonant concert featuring baritone Lin Cheng-hsun, soprano Lai Jue-yu, and artistic direction by Chang Cheng-jie on cello, accompanied by a string quartet of top-tier musicians. This promises an unforgettable journey of musical brilliance and beauty.

This year’s festival, themed “Aspirations toward the Dragon Year,” embodies vitality and hope, aiming to uplift audiences with the energy of music as a symbol of renewal and progress, perfectly aligning with the spirit of the Year of the Dragon. Tickets are priced at NT$200 per person, with only 200 seats available per performance. The event is open to individuals aged 7 and older, with children aged 7-12 required to be accompanied by an adult. Due to the venue’s staircase layout, elderly or mobility-impaired individuals should consider accessibility when purchasing tickets.
