Several Inns in Kinmen National Park Awarded "Golden Quality" Recognition in the Ministry of Transportation and Communications' "Taiwan Host" Program
The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) recently held a voting event for the "Golden Quality Taiwan Host" program, selecting the top 100 inns across Taiwan as a premium guide for both domestic and international travelers. The Kinmen National Park Headquarters and National Park Service have actively managed and operated inns located within traditional buildings. Currently, 43 inns hold the "Taiwan Host" certification, which represents 27.9% of the 154 inns in Kinmen County. Out of over 1,700 inns across Taiwan, 100 were awarded the Golden Quality distinction. Among the 21 inns from Kinmen County that participated, 8 were selected, with 7 being traditional inns within Kinmen National Park—a remarkable achievement.
The following Kinmen National Park Traditional Inns received the "Golden Quality Taiwan" recognition:
Nature Ecology Award:
- Forgotten Wings Inn – Located near Shanhou Village, this inn offers visitors a chance to explore local flora, fauna, geology, and intertidal zones.
Cultural Exploration Award:
- Water Melody Inn – Elegantly decorated, this inn immerses guests in the traditional Minnan architecture and local history.
- Riyue Residence – Featuring a modern, stylish design, this inn provides a comfortable stay while showcasing traditional Minnan-style architecture.
Distinctive Architecture Award:
-New Water Melody Inn – Known for its richly adorned architecture symbolizing hopes for future generations.
- Gunning Heart Retreat – Focused on minimalist design, this inn creates an elegant, timeless environment inspired by cultural aesthetics.
-Shuitou Old Western-style House – A building adorned with intricate colored ceramic tiles that document the family's glorious history.
- Old Minnan House – A double-tiered, double-protected dragon design with an outer dragon, reflecting the rich cultural history of the Qionglin settlement.
The Headquarters emphasizes its commitment to preserving, revitalizing, and reusing traditional buildings within Kinmen National Park by enhancing the operational and management capabilities of local inns. Over the years, it has implemented initiatives such as leasing, guidance, and evaluation programs to improve service quality, advocate for sustainable tourism, and promote the preservation of Kinmen's cultural heritage. Moving forward, the Headquarters will continue to encourage and assist inns in obtaining the "Friendly Inn" certification further to support the sustainable development of tourism in Kinmen.
