To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Gugang Tower's completion, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters and National Park Service will hold a special event titled "Gugang Tower 60th Anniversary Celebration – Gugang Tower Picnic" on November 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Registration for this event will take place from October 14 to October 30, 2024. Those interested in experiencing the unique charm of Gugang Tower are encouraged to sign up.

 

Gugang is renowned for its traditional settlements, historical monuments, military fortifications, lakes, and coastal landscapes. The development of the Gugang Scenic Area began in 1963, leading to the completion of Gugang Tower in June of the following year. Over its six decades of history, the tower has been meticulously preserved by the Kinmen National Park Headquarters, making it one of the most cherished attractions for both locals and tourists.

 

The 60th-anniversary celebration of Gugang Tower is entrusted to the Gugang Community Development Association of Jincheng Township. The event will feature activities such as a Picnic by the Lake, a band performance, a cake-cutting ceremony, and a lakeside guided tour. Participants will enjoy food by the lakeside while listening to enchanting music that resonates through the mountains. Mr. Dong Sen-bao, an advisor to the association, will provide a historical and cultural tour of the Gugang area, offering insights into the tower's history and the beauty of its surroundings.

 

Online registration for the event is required. The Picnic by the Lake costs NT$400 per group (maximum of 4 people per group), and there are 30 groups available. Registered participants will receive a Gugang Tower Meal Set designed for 4 people, a limited edition Gugang Tower picnic mat, and a reserved picnic seat. All other activities are free of charge.
