Typhoon Kong-Rey Alert: Kinmen National Park HQ Issues Safety Advisory

In light of the current path and potential impact of Typhoon Kong-Rey, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters and the National Park Service are urging the public to stay informed about the latest typhoon updates. They advise against entering mountainous areas and water bodies during the typhoon warning period.

The Kinmen County Disaster Response Center has designated areas within the park, including Ci Lake, Gugang Lake, Shuangli Lake, and Lingshui Lake, as restricted zones during the typhoon's passage. The Headquarters strongly advises the public to comply with disaster prevention regulations and avoid entering these restricted areas to ensure personal safety and prevent penalties for non-compliance.

Visitors are also urged to relocate their vehicles from the parking lots at visitor centers such as Zhongshan Forest Visitor Center, Rushan Visitor Center, and Zhaishan Tunnel to safer locations. This is important to protect their vehicles as the typhoon's intensity increases. The Headquarters emphasizes that they will not be liable for any damages or losses to vehicles or personal belongings left in the parking lots of their visitor centers during natural disasters, including typhoons. Please stay safe and follow all safety guidelines during the typhoon warning period.
