The 2025 Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival ticket sales open at 2 PM on July 7 — inviting you to experience its unique charm

The Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival is entering its 17th year. The festival will be held from October 18 to 19, 2025, with a total of six sessions. Online ticket sales will open at 2 PM on Monday, July 7. Tickets are limited, so music fans are encouraged to seize the opportunity.

Since 2009, the Kinmen National Park Headquarters (the HQ) under the Ministry of the Interior’s National Park Service has continuously hosted the Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival at Zhaishan Tunnel. Besides establishing the festival as a unique cultural and artistic event in Kinmen, it also demonstrates the HQ’s active efforts to revitalize and preserve historical battle sites. The two-day music festival will feature, on the first day, a performance by Japan’s renowned soprano Ena Miyaji and tenor Wang Dian, whose emotionally charged voices will fully showcase the unique acoustic resonance of the tunnel venue. On the second day, Peking opera artist Wei Hai-min will perform elegant and evocative Peking opera, engaging in a deep musical dialogue to present the unique charm of Eastern opera art. Both days’ performances will be accompanied by a string quartet composed of cellist Chang Cheng-jie, violinists Lin Tian-ji and Ou Chih-yu, and violist Huang Rui-yi, blending opera and Peking opera to display the vocal variations of Western male and female sopranos alongside the Eastern opera singer.

The HQ states that this year’s festival gathers top musicians from both home and abroad. By inviting internationally renowned musicians, the festival aims to bring the Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival and the Zhaishan Tunnel onto the international stage. Those wishing to experience the festival’s unique charm can purchase tickets via the “OPENTIX” ticketing system ([link]). Please register as a member of the ticketing system before buying tickets on the website. Tickets can also be purchased at physical box offices of the National Theater and Concert Hall; please search online for ticket offices by county or city. To maintain performance quality, each session is limited to 200 attendees. Participants aged seven and above are welcome, but an adult must accompany those aged 7 to 12 years old. Elderly or mobility-impaired individuals should consider their ability to walk before buying a ticket.
