Kinmen National Park Blue-tailed Bee-eater Conservation Promotion Activity and Live Online Footage —Everyone Welcome to Participate and Watch
The Blue-tailed Bee-eater is a summer migratory bird in Kinmen. Every year, it comes to Kinmen to breed. With bright and colorful plumage, Kinmen is the only place in Taiwan where you can observe its unique ecological behaviors, such as nesting, hunting, and breeding. Kinmen National Park Headquarters (the HQ) under the Ministry of the Interior’s National Park Service launched its 2025 Blue-tailed Bee-eater Conservation Promotion Activity on May 24. The Kinmen Wild Bird Society has been commissioned to provide guided explanations every Saturday, Sunday, and during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cihu Triangle Fort, rain or shine. They have also set up monocular telescopes, allowing visitors to get a clearer view of the bird’s beautiful form and interesting behaviors. This event will continue until July 6. Families and bird enthusiasts are warmly invited to come on weekends and holidays to enjoy birdwatching.
To allow more people to appreciate the fascinating behavior of the Blue-tailed Bee-eater, the HQ has installed Taiwan’s first official 4K high-definition live bird ecology camera next to Cihu Triangle Fort. The footage streams live 24 hours a day on the official YouTube channel ([link]), allowing viewers to watch the summer-visitor Blue-tailed Bee-eater up close at any time, from anywhere. The on-site audio equipment also captures the crisp bird calls and natural sounds of the bee-eaters, providing an immersive experience. Additionally, the video allows viewers to review highlights from the past 12 hours. Visitors who participate in the conservation promotion activities at Cihu Triangle Fort during the event and subscribe, like, and share the live online footage can redeem a beautiful promotional gift. Everyone is encouraged to join in enthusiastically.
