The Water Resources Environmental Education Center Officially Opens, Establishing a New Hub for Environmental Education

The "Water Resources Environmental Education Center" (the Center) under the Kinmen National Park Headquarters (the HQ) of the Ministry of the Interior's National Park Service officially opened on April 25, 2025. This Center is a water resource conservation educational facility that combines environmental protection concepts with educational functions. It not only symbolizes the active practice of sustainable development but also marks a significant milestone for Kinmen in the field of ecological education for water resources.

The Center was transformed from a former sewage treatment plant, preserving the original facilities while integrating modern exhibition design. It not only continues the core functions of the sewage treatment facility but also uses exhibition design, guided tours, and interactive experiences to lead the public to a deeper understanding of the acquisition, use, and recycling process of water resources, thereby enhancing awareness of water conservation. The Center features multiple diverse spaces, including a water cycle knowledge area, a sewage treatment process display area, and an environmental action experience zone. The content is varied and suitable for visitors of all ages.

The HQ stated that the establishment of the Center will become the best venue for schools to promote off-campus teaching and environmental education. It is also an essential platform for promoting the concepts of water resource conservation and environmental sustainability practices. In the future, they will continue to organize educational promotion activities and thematic exhibitions, aiming to engage more people in joining and working together to protect precious water resources.
