Kinmen National Park Completes Renovation of Mashan and Wuhushan Public Restrooms, Providing an Enhanced Visitor-Friendly Environment

Kinmen National Park Headquarters (the HQ) has completed renovations to the public restrooms at the Mashan and Wuhushan recreation sites. The facilities were old, and upgrades were needed to comply with the latest accessibility regulations and universal design standards. In 2025, the Park carried out improvements to these restrooms to enhance overall service quality. Facilities have been redesigned in accordance with universal design principles to provide a safer, more hygienic restroom environment for people with restricted mobility, elderly visitors, women, and children, while also making the space more attractive. The renovated restrooms are scheduled to reopen on November 19, 2025.

The HQ noted that since 2023, it has allocated funds each year to improve restrooms at key sites throughout the park. To date, upgrades have been completed at Zhaishan Tunnel, Taiwushan Recreation Center, Zhongshanlin Entrance Parking Lot, Zhongshanlin Children’s Recreation Area, Rushan Fort, Contract Teahouse Museum in Xiaojing, Taiwushan Parking Lot, and the Lieyu Visitor Center. With the completion of improvements at Mashan and Wuhushan, restroom accessibility upgrades at major scenic locations throughout the park are now complete. These enhancements offer visitors higher-quality services.
