Kinmen is an island and can be reached by plane or boat.
Visitors can purchase tickets on the official websites of Uni Air, Mandarin Airlines, Far Eastern Air Transport and other tourism websites.
The liner running between Shang Yi Airport in Kinmen to Taipei, Taichung, Jiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung takes about an hour and there are also regular flights to Penghu.

Transportation in Kinmen After exiting Shang Yi Airport, tourists can take a taxi to Jincheng downtown, Shuitou Village/Shuitou Pier or Shaho Village at about NT$200, NT$300 and NT$350, respectively. The can also rent cars or motorcycles, or confirm with the B&B in advance to see whether there’s the pick-up service.
The rental for a 125cc motorcycles is NT$400 per day and the rental for cars is determined by the engine displacement. For instance, the rental for an 1800cc car costs NT$1800. Tourists who have special needs or plan to rent for a longer period can negotiate the price with the owner.
You can take the bus to save money and enjoy the landscape along the route. A bus stop is at the right side of the airport and the Red 1 and 3 lines head to Jincheng or Shanwai. Please refer to Kinmen Bus and Ferry Management Office for detailed information.
For tourists to Shuitou Pier, the Office arranges a shuttle bus outside the airport in accordance with the flight schedule to head for Jincheng Station where tourists can transit to Shuitou Pier. The fare for one zone is NT$12. Tourists can tell the destination to the driver, pay the ticket and return the stub while getting off the bus.
