The Construction and Planning Agency releases 5 new mountaineering safety videos before Lunar New Year

The Construction and Planning Agency (CPA)stated that the 10-day Lunar New Year holiday is approaching. Many people will take advantage of the holiday to arrange mountaineering trips, and they have specially chosen to release five new mountaineering safety promotional videos before new year. This time, Golden Bell actor Lien Yu-han served as the mountaineering safety ambassador, and completed the filming of the latest promotional video "Before respecting the mountain, respect partners first"; the well-known female mountaineer Jan Qiao-yu once again collaborated to film Yushan-Nanhengsan Route , Shei Pa-Zhijiayang Route", "Xueba Wuling Sixiu Route" and "Taroko Bilu Yangtou Longitudinal Route", videos on the precautions for four popular mountaineering routes, emphasizing that people engaged in outdoor mountaineering activities must be well prepared in order to up the mountain happily and get home safely.

For information about national park mountaineering safety promotion videos and other information, the public can browse the Taiwan National Park official website, Facebook fan page, Youtube channel, and Taiwan Mountaineering Application One-Stop Service Website.

The public is reminded to make preparations before embarking on mountain forest activities.

The CPA pointed out that the number of people who applied for permission to enter the three alpine national parks of Yushan, Taroko and Shei Pa last year increased by 47% compared with the previous year. However, the number of accident cases in the above-mentioned areas also increased by nearly 45%. According to analysis, the main causes of accidents are trauma, altitude sickness, getting lost and falling into ravines.

The CPA further explained that after understanding the cause of the accidents, it was found that many people ignored the potential risks and rashly went up into the mountains. When encountering emergencies, they also did not know how to respond and rescue.

The CPA once again calls on the public to make good use of the "National Park Trail System Grading" to measure their own health status before setting off. They should choose a suitable route, and should also formulate a complete mountaineering plan, including itinerary arrangements, group make-up, equipment, food, offline maps, disaster relief information and evacuation plans, etc. Finally, before departure, be sure to choose someone with mountaineering experience as a stay-at-home person, who will also serve as an emergency contact window for emergencies to monitor the progress of the mountaineering process and ensure safety. The implementation of the above preparations will make mountain forest activities smoother and safer.

In addition, in order to allow people to obtain mountaineering safety information and establish correct knowledge from their daily lives, the CPA will continue to use various media channels such as environmental education promotions and promotional videos to cultivate people's understanding of the importance of mountaineering safety and national park mountain forest conservation.
