The Kinmen National Park Headquarters, National Park Service and the Mental Rehabilitation Association visit long-term care institutions to conduct public welfare care activities

To encourage people with disabilities to participate in social activities and care for the elderly in the area, Kinmen National Park Headquarters, National Park Service (the Headquarters) cooperated with students from the Kinmen County Mental Rehabilitation Association and went to a comprehensive long-term care institution attached to Kinmen Hospital of the Department of Health and Welfare on the morning of September 14, 2012 to handle a public welfare care activity. Participants worked with the elderly in the long-term care center to sew a leather wind lion mobile phone bag, doing activities with their hands, accompanying the elderly, providing students with learning opportunities, and spending a warm time together.

To care for the elderly in the Kinmen area and convey the concept of the national park through community care, the Headquarters has promoted a series of six Kinmen National Park public welfare activities since June 2023, planned and executed by its volunteer team. So far, we have visited five long-term care institutions: "Kinmen County Western Community-style Long-term Care Service Institution", "Kinmen County Jincheng Town Zhushan Development Association Private Zhushan Community Long-term Institution," "Kinmen County Private Jinhu Long-term Institution Affiliated to the Sunrise Social Welfare Foundation," "Day-care Center of the Private Dragonfly Community Long-term Care Institution of Kinmen County affiliated with Zhishan Long-term Care Co., Ltd." and the "Kinmen County Anqi Diverse -Care Center". Leading the elderly to make hand-made paper flowers and small potted plant, combined with music performances by volunteer teams and other content, the activities have been highly affirmed by organizations and welcomed by the elderly.

The Headquarters expressed its hope to combine learning while having fun with its volunteer expertise to jointly serve the people in the region. Use actions to convey social care and warmth, create an age-friendly environment, and establish a good partnership between it and the community.
