Kinmen National Park Headquarters 2022 Military Experience and Environmental Education Activity opens registration Will take people to experience Lieyu’s battlefield charm

Kinmen National Park HQ has planned four sessions of the 2022 Military Experience and Environmental Education Activity to promote the results of battlefield site active reuse. Registration opened on October 5 and will be open until October 15. Each session will have 20 participants. People interested in the battlefield characteristics of Lieyu should grasp the opportunity.

Kinmen is on the front line and was once an important military base, the island possessing various battle sites. These battle sites had different uses, extending from land to sea, there are different barrack area designs and tunnel forms for different terrain and strategic positions.

To actively reuse battle sites and let people know the historical context, Kinmen National Park HQ will hold this one day-one night course featuring in-depth travel, combining environment education, military experience and shooting practice. Through diverse source contents, with Lieyu military barracks space as the theme of environmental education, participants will learn the concept of barracks space shooting, use of natural cover, environmental attack and defense strategy etc. and learn about the purpose of the distribution of strongholds on the island, battlefield related vegetation and military slogans and their significance the times.

Kinmen National Park HQ said the sessions for this activity will be on October 20, November 2, November 9 and December 1. The fee for each is NT$2000 (including board and lodging, transport expenses during the activity and training fee). For safety reasons, participants must be 12 over and it is suggested a parent accompany people aged under 18.
