「船型堡」編號E-037 據點，約興建於民國七十年代。位於金東後扁湖山灣三山里的沙灘上，北邊為山后編號E-034，寒舍花據點，南邊是后扁，編號E-042 據點，因碉堡造型奇特像一艘戰艦，故一般稱為「船型堡」，是金門地區少見船體造型軍事據點。
「船型堡」地理位置面對大陸圍頭，前方沙灘是金門東邊少見的大型沙岸地形，易於敵方登陸，因此在沙灘上佈有三道軌條砦並佈有雷區。建築如扁長的船型於左右兩側佈滿射口，用意在控制沙灘左右兩側，配合E-037和E-034據點攻擊來襲敵人。
船型堡高三層、地下有坑道連接左右側伏地堡，形成三角形之防禦陣地。碉堡內一層有排長室、中山室、軍械室、戰備水槽，消防沙等，二層為寢室、彈藥庫及後來興建的廁所，寢室為大通舖，與一般上下舖不同。頂層為防禦隔牆與射口、另有水泥製的50機槍高射腳架台。
The “Vessel shape fortress”, inspection office number E-037, was constructed in the 80’s. Located on the beach of northeastern Kinmen, on its north is the number E-034 Han She Hua Safety Inspection Office on shanhou, and on its south, is Hou bian, safety inspection office E-042. As the fortress is in a unique shape of vessel, it was entitled as the “Vessel shape fort”, it is one of the rare military strongholds in the shape of a vessel.
The “Vessel shape fortress” faces the coast of mainland China, the beach in front is a sandy shore whose landscape is rarely seen in the east of Kinmen. Since it is easy for the enemies to disembark, the beach is equipped with three rail anti-landing piles and mined zones. The vessel shaped fortress is armed with embrasures on both sides, intending to control the left and right sides of the beach, and attack the enemies in cooperation with inspection office E-037 and E-034.
The “Vessel shape fortress” is three stories high, and connects with underground tunnels on both sides, forming a triangle defensive position. On the first floor, there are platoon leader office, Zhongshan office (Assembly room), armory room, water tank prepared for war and sand for emergency use. The second floor is built for dormitory, ammunition depot, and toilets that were constructed afterward. Inside the dormitory, displays wide shared beds for multiple people, which is different from most dormitories that have bunk beds. The top floor is equipped with defensive walls and embrasures, as well as 50 antiaircraft machine gun stools built by concrete.
